The Intero Foundation brings value

If there ever was a doubt about the value the Intero Foundation brings, not only to the children and the charities it serves, but also the positive branding and PR we all receive in our communities, we sincerely hope you take two minutes to read through the five bullet points of this message with an update of some things that have been happening with Intero and the Intero Foundation!

  1. Intero and our Foundation recently recognized for its contributions and commitment by Congresswoman Jackie Speier and Assemblyman Richard Gordon.

  2. Your Bank, Western Bancorp, with a recent donation check of $2,300 to the foundation! Our Loan officers and the Bank are making contributions from your loan referrals…so keep those referrals coming! Thank you Western Bancorp! You make a difference.
  3. Intero recently finished a campaign with Whole Foods Market, where their customers were introduced to Intero and our Foundation in their store and 22,088 of them agreed to donate 5 cents of their purchase to our cause, raising $1,104.40 and spreading our branding with this positive exposure to all their customers. (Thank you Toni Roberts for setting this up!) Here is a quote from one of their Corporate offices: “I had such a blast with this partnership, and am so impressed with everyone at Intero. you all are such great people, and I am so happy to see the dedication you all give to support your Foundation and our community children.” Raschel Hutton, Marketing Team Leader – Whole Foods Market
  4. PR that Intero received in the newspaper with the recognition of a grant the Foundation made to Abilities United.
  5. During a most recent E-Waste collection day for the Foundation at an Intero office, a stranger drove up, rolled down their window, and gave an unsolicited  check for $200! The remark simply was ‘you are doing such good work and I wanted to support it with a contribution.

The people in our communities are noticing and recognizing our brand and commitment to being more than a company that just sells a lot of Real Estate. We are making a difference in what we do and who we are being.

It was a Great Day!

Theresa Vuong and Sandy McGaughey are Intero Real Estate Agents.  Last week they volunteered to spend time at Whole Foods supporting the Nickels for Non-profits program on behalf of the Intero Foundation. This is their story as told by Sandy.

Yesterday was a great day to be at Blossom Hill/Almaden Whole Foods Store informing folks about the great work done by Intero Foundation and the non profits the Foundation supports!  When Theresa and I ran out of cloth bags, Raschel’s assistant gave us a stack of paper bags, which we opened and placed on the table with Intero signs and cookies front and center.  With us standing behind table, someone said it appeared we’d sprouted out of bags; very cute!  Of course, presenting this form of recycle bags to shoppers brought attention to fact any bag can be recycled AND extended our opportunities to discuss the Intero Foundation…..because after all, it’s all about bringing in more nickels to help children in need!

Everyone we spoke with was enthusiastically receptive and appreciative of the Foundations effort.  However, one gentleman, noticing my Intero Real Estate name badge, mentioned he and his wife “are not buying house today”.   I replied,”…great coincidence!  I’m not here to sell a house; but I’d sure like to tell you about the Intero Foundation…”  He listened intently, asked questions, responded approvingly, then told me his company is a major Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital donor.

He wanted to donate cash on spot.  When I explained the donor-giving process, he pulled out his business card and suggested we contact the people who handle philanthropy for his company.

It was truly a great day meeting great people.  We are very excited to be a part of this campaign which, lasts through the Summer.

Save a bag and support The Intero Foundation

During the upcoming months of July, August, and September the Intero Foundation, a non-profit organization funded, promoted and governed by Intero Real Estate Services, Inc. agents is being featured by the Whole Foods Market on Blossom Hill Road, in their Nickels for Non-profits campaign.

Nickels for Non-Profits is the Whole Foods community giving program which features a local non-profit for three months. Every time a customer reuses a shopping bag, a nickel is donated to the chosen local non-profit. The goal of the program is to reduce the use of new bags while increasing funding for a local non-profit.

The Blossom Hill Whole Foods store chose The Intero Foundation as a beneficiary of the five cent bag refund program because they felt the Intero Foundation could reach the most number of people to promote the event and bring people to the Blossom Hill store and also because of the great work the foundation does for kids. Customers who shop at this location and bring their reusable shopping bags for groceries at checkout will be asked by a Whole Foods checker if they would like to donate five cents to the Intero Foundation or receive a five cent credit between July 4, 2011 and September 24, 2011.

In addition, the Intero Foundation volunteer Realtors will be at a table near the entrance several Saturdays each month promoting the Foundation, and handing out reusable grocery bags as well as information about the Intero Foundation.

Thank you for re-using your shopping bags, honoring the environment and supporting both The Intero Foundation and your local Whole Foods Market!

Intero Foundation Provides Much Needed Grants

Russ Boyd 0 Comments

Local nonprofits Family Connections, My New Red Shoes and Spark received much needed grants from The Intero Foundation.  Grants to the three organizations dedicated to assisting children totaled $20,500.

Founded in 2003, the non profit Intero Foundation has raised more than $2 million to benefit children living in the communities we serve. The Intero Foundation is funded, promoted and governed by the real estate agents at Intero Real Estate services. All members of the Intero community – executives, staff and agents – donate their time to further the Foundation’s mission.

To date, the Intero Foundation has lent its support to over 70 local charities – organizations that range in size and mission, but all work to positively impact the growth and well being of children by enhancing their education and personal development.
